Vaidhya (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates a healthcare discovery and appointment facilitation platform that allows users to discover doctors, hospitals, clinics, healthcare vendors, and to request appointments or consultations.

Vaidhya does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

Basic personal information (name, phone number, email)
Profile preferences such as location and appointment type
Doctor, hospital, or vendor search interactions
Appointment request details (date, time, mode)
Device information, IP address, and app usage analytics

Important: We do NOT require users to submit medical records or sensitive health data.

2. Health & Medical Information Disclaimer

Vaidhya does not collect, store, or process medical records, prescriptions, diagnoses, or treatment plans. Any communication between users and healthcare providers occurs directly and independently.

Vaidhya acts only as a technology platform facilitating discovery and appointment requests.

3. How We Use Information

To enable appointment requests and healthcare discovery
To connect users with doctors, hospitals, and vendors
To improve app performance and user experience
To send appointment-related notifications
To ensure platform safety and prevent misuse

4. Appointments & Communication

Appointment booking, call-based consultations, and video consultations are facilitated through third-party providers or directly with healthcare professionals. Vaidhya does not monitor or record medical conversations.

5. Vendors & Emergency Services

Healthcare vendors (oxygen suppliers, ambulance providers, diagnostics, pharmacies) are independent third parties. Availability and services are provided directly by them.

6. Location Information

Location data is used only to show nearby doctors, hospitals, and vendors. You may disable location access at any time through device setting

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services:

Account & profile data (name, phone, email, preferences) — retained while your account is active.
Appointment request history — retained for 12 months from the date of the request.
App usage & analytics data — retained for a maximum of 12 months.
Device & IP data — retained for 90 days for security and fraud prevention purposes.

Upon account deletion or expiry of the above periods, data is permanently deleted from our servers.

How to Request Data Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. To submit a request:

Email us at support@vaidhya.co.in with the subject line "Data Deletion Request"
Include your registered phone number or email so we can identify your account

We will process your request and confirm deletion within 30 days. Some data may be retained beyond this period where required by applicable law or for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, after which it will be permanently deleted.

We may use cookies and similar technologies to enhance performance, analyze usage, and personalize content.

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data
Data may be shared with service providers strictly for platform functionality
Information may be disclosed if required by law or legal process
